This design represents the door to the spirit world, with life and death sharing the same mouth, how you cannot have one without the other. The design around the faces represents the creators eye, a significant design known throughout Coast Salish territories. The 4 arranged in the circle represents the 4 directions of the world and of life, and the passing of time.
This design was created by Josh at a significant time of his life, which is why it's so represented throughout what we create.
